Guidebook on Learning Disabilities
The Changeinkk Foundation identified a significant gap in resources for higher education institutions regarding the inclusion of students with specific learning disabilities. There was no existing guidebook to provide comprehensive access to information, making it difficult for practitioners to understand challenges, context, and existing solutions. This absence also meant a lack of emphasis on assessments, strengths, and the sharing of success stories that could encourage and educate stakeholders.
A comprehensive, accessible design solution fills the gap in resources for higher education practitioners.


To address these issues, a visual language was developed with accessibility as the primary focus. The information hierarchy was simplified, with content rewritten in collaboration with a mental health researcher to ensure clarity and inclusiveness. Consistent, repeating sections were designed to highlight key information, new perspectives, chapter summaries, reflective questions, and relatable stories from individuals with specific learning disabilities. Additionally, the print layout was redesigned to transform complex data tables into simplified, easy-to-understand cards, enhancing the overall user experience and approachability of the guidebook.
